  • Event: China’s economy continues to forge ahead with strong fundamentals and stable economic growth. The second half of 2006 and the beginning of 2007 have seen robust M&A deal activity, with the value of deals continuing to rise. Recently-issued Foreign M&A Regulations open new avenues of opportunities for foreign investors, venture capital and private equity funds and investment banks, but also introduce significant ambiguities that may create obstacles. In particular, we will be discussing PRC concerns over national economic security, using US listed shares to acquire PRC companies, pre-IPO share swaps, merger control filings, US and cross-border considerations.
